Peak Suspension Upper Control Arms for 4th Gen Tacoma - Review

Tubular Upper Control Arms Alignment Fix & Extra Travel (2024+)

We’ve been running the Peak Tubular UCAs on our 2024 Tacoma for a while now, and this has been one of those upgrades that immediately makes the truck drive better. The stock control arms work fine on pavement, but once you add a lift, they quickly run out of room and the alignment gets thrown off. After swapping to these arms, the steering lined back up, the suspension gained more movement, and the truck felt steadier both on the road and off it.

First Impressions and Build Quality

Right out of the box, they look and feel solid. The tubing is strong chromoly steel, the finish is smooth, and the oversized joint feels heavy-duty. The bushings are designed to run without greasing, which means no squeaks something that’s common on cheaper aftermarket arms.

Performance and Alignment

Toyota Tacoma suspension upgrade with tubular UCAs

When you lift a Tacoma two to three inches, the stock arms don’t allow enough adjustment to keep the wheels pointing straight. The result is light, twitchy steering. With these Peak arms installed, the alignment came back into spec and the truck tracked straight again. Off-road, we noticed the front suspension moving more smoothly through its range without binding up. An alignment is recommended after install that’s when the improvement really shows up.

Uniball and Bushings

A huge plus with these arms is the one-inch stainless uniball, which is much stronger and smoother than the factory ball joint. It allows the suspension to move freely without binding, even at steeper lift angles. The bushings are Peak’s dual durometer design, which means they’re built to flex where needed but stay quiet without maintenance. For us, that’s been a big improvement compared to other arms that required constant greasing.

Installation and Fit

Bolt-on installation of upper control arms on Tacoma

Installation was straightforward. We pulled the stock arms and bolted these in place using the factory mounts. Each side took about an hour with basic tools. Since the arms come pre-assembled, there’s no pressing in joints or piecing things together.

Driving Experience

The difference was immediate. On the highway, the steering felt steady and planted instead of light and wandering. Off-road, the suspension cycled with more usable travel and didn’t top out as harshly. It’s one of those upgrades that changes the way the truck feels every single time you drive it, not just when you’re pushing hard on the trail.

Final Thoughts

If you’re lifting a 2024+ Tacoma, these UCAs are an upgrade we’d call necessary. They fix the alignment issues that come with a lift, add strength, and let the suspension move the way it should. The maintenance-free design is a bonus, and overall, the truck just drives better with them on. Peak got this one right, and we’d recommend them to anyone setting up a lifted Tacoma.
